THE FORD GT
Ford Motor Company has a long and hugely successful history, both on the street and on the racetrack. Now immortalized in the movie Ford vs Ferrari, Ford’s unsuccessful acquisition of Ferrari led to a relentless pursuit of defeating Ferrari on their home turf at the world’s most prestigious race. These efforts culminated in success, with the Ford GT40 racing cars’ four consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
As part of Ford Motor Company’s centennial celebration, a next-generation version of the iconic race car was created, borrowing heavily from the stunning design and profile of the original car. The ultra-high-performance Ford GT showcases the finest in advanced technologies, constructed on a lightweight aluminum chassis clothed in superplastic-formed lightweight composite and aluminum body panels. The car is powered by a mid/rear mounted, hand-built, supercharged four cam V8 engine producing 550 HP. The transmission is a proper 6-speed manual, and the racing-derived suspension and braking provide amazing supercar performance. 0-60 performance is 3.5 seconds and the top speed of 205 mph is electronically limited. The Ford GT has no electronic driver-aids like traction control or launch control; this is a driver’s car.
Production of the second generation GT was in 2005 and 2006 and was limited to 4038 cars. There were only four options available on the car; racing stripes, BBS wheels, painted brake calipers and a McIntosh stereo system. Commanding a premium since its release, the GT has the distinct honor to have never dropped in value below its original MSRP, a true testament to its stunning design, incredible performance and outstanding collectability. The most sought after cars are low-mileage cars with all four options.
THIS CAR
This Ford GT is presented in Tungsten Gray with Black leather interior, a one-year only color used on just 541 cars. Standard features include forged aluminum capless fuel filler, 18” front and 19” rear wheels, HID headlights, full aerodynamic package, leather trimmed carbon fiber seats and a tilt/telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel. The supercharged V8 producing 550 HP is mated to a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, with dry-sump lubrication, stainless steel dual exhaust and Brembo vented disc brakes. To make this car even more special, it was ordered with all four available options of lightweight, forged aluminum wheels, red painted brake calipers, painted racing stripes and a McIntosh AM/FM stereo with CD player.
This GT has been perfectly preserved since it left the factory and presents in as-new condition in all respects. With just three owners from new and has less than 3,700 original miles, the car has no damage or paintwork in its history. It comes with the original window sticker, factory car cover and also the new-car stickers and tags that were on the car when delivered new.
